Standing in the Gap

A project to raise awareness of the reality of human trafficking in our world today, and to help end it.

Our Mission

Our mission is to "stand in the gap" against the horrors of human trafficking. We strive to raise awareness for women-at-risk issues and support organizations, like the Joy Smith Foundation, who are making a difference.

The Joy Smith Foundation works to ensure that every Canadian is safe from manipulation, force, or abuse of power designed to lure and exploit them into the sex trade or forced labour.

There is Hope

Considering the situation simply as global citizens, it seems impossible to think that human trafficking could come to an end. However, as Christian believers we know that our hope does not rest in ourselves, but in our saviour Christ Jesus.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Human trafficking, which is the modern form of slavery, occurs in every nation. It is not a small isolated population who are affected, but an estimated 30 million individuals who are victimized through sexual exploitation, forced labour, and other activities such as army combat, begging and in some instances, organ removal. The vast majority of victims are women, followed by girls, men and boys.

Human traffickers can have many faces; male or female; young and old. They range from individuals who use personal relationships to forcibly exploit another, to the operation of global networks that cross multiple borders. The growth of this crime has been fueled by demand and staggering profits of 32 billion annually.
